Jürgen Stock is a German police officer and the current Secretary-General of Interpol. He was born on May 20, 1959, in Bavaria, Germany. After studying law, Stock joined the Bavarian police in 1984 and rose through the ranks to become the President of the Bavarian Landeskriminalamt (State Criminal Police Office) in 2003. In 2014, he was elected as a Vice President of Interpol and, in 2016, he was elected as its Secretary-General, succeeding Frenchman Ronald Noble. As Secretary-General, Stock is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and implementing its strategy to combat transnational crime and terrorism. He is also a member of the International Criminal Court’s Trust Fund for Victims and a member of the Advisory Board of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces. In 2019, he was re-elected for a second term as Interpol's Secretary-General.
